She entered the health and fitness field in 1979, she was there before the now ubiquitous gyms and health wellness franchises began appearing on every street corner. The History of Body and Fitness Christina opened her first fitness store in 1980. It was the first fitness store in the region. There were no GNC or Mega Web sites, and about all that was available were protein powders, wheat germ oil and amino acids. At that time there also was not a lot of research on bodybuilding or/and supplements. Christina had to research everything on her own and learning the ins and outs of Fitness, Health and supplements on her own. This is one reason why she has been recognized as the local bodybuilder's guru and considered a pioneer. How I started - Christina's own experience I had gained weight and was in poor health. I wanted to get into better shape, improve my health and get my weight under control. So I started researching health and fitness products. There was no real information out there. I studied under Dr. Donsback, a physician who researches Alternatives and Prevention; and, Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw who started the Fitness revolution with Growth Hormones and Amino Acids. - Why has Christina been in business for over three decades?
